Walking breaks in Inveraray
Inveraray is a walkers and ramblers paradise, with an excellent selection of walks, hikes and cycle tracks, with ample opportunities for sightseeing and wildlife watching en-route. Maps of the various routes are offered to guests at reception, as well as some local advice on where is best to go at each time of year and what footwear or clothing should be worn.
A walk which takes ramblers up to the dramatic 18th century watch tower (known as Dun-na-Cuaich) in the castle grounds, this walk can take anywhere between one to three hours from the hotel depending on which route you fancy.
Inveraray Forest Circuit
This quaint walk takes visitors on a tour along the sparkling shores of Loch Fyne, exploring the area around the town and showcasing its finest views, including Inveraray Castle. This is an easy going walk and guests can make their own way around, or do a circuit which will take roughly two and a half hours.
This marvellous yet challenging walk will take visitors on a long walk out to the Dubh Loch, which can take between two and four hours. We strongly recommend guests to wear sturdy footwear.
Eat & Drink
Eat and drink before or after your walk at our restaurant, The Clansman which specialises in local seafood and high quality produce. The stone walls and tartan carpet give a feeling of tradition and locality, and it is with the slate dining mats and polished mahogany tables that the restaurant has a sense of opulence, yet always remaining relaxed. The bar and lounge also provides a range of hot and cold drinks, an extensive wine list, ales, beers and an ample selection of single malt whiskies.
