Excitement is building across the United Kingdom for the upcoming coronation of King Charles III on Saturday, 6th May 2023. The day will start with the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey, followed by ‘The King’s Procession’ and ‘The Coronation Procession’. Finally, the King and the Queen Consort will appear on the balcony at Buckingham Palace, accompanied by members of the Royal Family.

But the festivities don't end there. On Sunday, 7th May 2023, a Coronation Concert will be broadcast live from Windsor Castle by the BBC. The Coronation Big Lunch will also take place on the same date, where neighbours and communities are invited to share food and fun together across the country.

On Monday, 8th May 2023, members of the public will be invited to take part in The Big Help Out. This will encourage people to try volunteering for themselves and join the work being undertaken to support their local areas.

For those looking to get in on the action, a visit to Balmoral Castle & Estate in Scotland could be just the ticket. The estate, which is the Scottish home of the Royal Family, will reopen to the public on 1st April 2023. On coronation day, the estate will be hosting Coronation Celebrations, featuring vintage buses, a falconry display, and the Ballater Pipe Band. Visitors can also catch the live events on television screens in the coffee shop.

In the village of Ballater there will be ‘Coronation at the Station Concert’ with local music and artists on Friday 5th May at the Old Royal Station, as well as a bring your own food picnic at Church Green in the village, forming the local ‘Coronation Big Lunch’ celebration between 1pm and 6pm on Sunday 7th May.
