Buachallie Etive Mor
Bag a Munro
This iconic mountain guards the entrance to Glencoe. As you approach from Rannoch Moor on the A82 road from Glasgow, the Buachallie is one of Scotland's most photographed mountains. A favourite of climbers, complete the climb with a sense of accomplishment before returning to the Glencoe Inn for a well-deserved pint.
Glenfinnian Viaduct
Filming Locatons
Over the years, Glencoe’s scenery has starred in many famous films and now plays a leading part on Scotland’s Movie Trail. The Glenfinnian Viaduct was featured in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, adjacent to what acted as the Black Lake in other films. If you are lucky or have planned, you might see the Jacobite Steam Train pass across the viaduct, bringing the magic to life.
Castle Stalker
Historical Landmark
One of the most authentic Scottish castles, Castle Stalker, sits surrounded by the waters of Loch Linnhe on the road between Glencoe and Oban. A limited number of tours are available each year for a lucky few who get to see the inner apartments of the ancient castle, which was first built over 700 years ago.

Adventure Seekers
Walking and Climbing
The West Highland Way is close by and if the weather prevents some outdoors climbing, the world’s largest indoor ice wall challenges climbers at nearby Ice Factor in Kinlochleven. Ben Nevis offers the UK's highest walking or climbing challenge.
Fishing
The local Glencoe rivers are popular for fly fishing to catch salmon and sea trout. Lochs like the Glencoe Lochan are great for loch fishing where you can catch brown trout, pike and more, while sea angling charters offer the opportunity to catch large skate, mackerel and even conger eel.
Skiing
When the snow falls, nearby Glencoe Mountain Resort and the Nevis Range at Fort William offer skiing for all abilities.
Mountain Sports
The Lochan Trails under the Pap of Glencoe are a stones throw from the Glencoe Inn & Gathering. Mountain bikers can use the local trails and nearby rivers offer a challenge for white water kayakers.
