Directions to Isle of Mull
The Isle of Mull is accessible by ferry from three ports – Oban, Lochaline and Kilchoan. Most visitors travel on the Oban to Craignure route. From Oban, it is a 45 minute crossing across to Craignure. Situated on the crescent of Craignure Bay, our hotel is a short walk from the ferry terminal and only two kilometres from the main centre of Mull. If you are approaching from the north, you can use the Lochaline ferry which will take 15 minutes to cross to Fishnish on Mull. The Tobermory Distillery is available for tours seven days a week where you can sample a dram of the award-winning Tobermory single malt whisky. The tours are a popular attraction, so we would recommend you book well in advance of your trip.
There are many different routes to get to the Isle of Mull - however, you will initially have to take a ferry. There are three ports that you can choose from - Oban, Lochaline and Kilchoan. The most direct route is from Oban - the CalMac ferry will drop you at Craignure after a 45 minute journey. From there, the Isle of Mull Hotel & Spa is a short walk from the ferry terminal. Yes. The abbey is considered the birthplace of Celtic Christianity where Saint Columba settled in 563AD to spread Christianity through Scotland. For history buffs, you can view the final resting place of many historical Scottish kings, including Macbeth.
