Fonab Castle is wild about Perthshire’s big trees and has signed up to help conserve and protect them now and for the future.

Nestled in Perthshire Big Tree Country, which comprises over 200,000 acres of stunning woodlands, Fonab is ideally placed near some of Perthshire’s iconic trees, woodlands and forests, which their visitors and guests love to explore.

The Supporting Perthshire Big Tree Country initiative is administered by Perth and Kinross Countryside Trust (PKCT) and allows hotels, B&Bs and businesses of all sizes across Perthshire to broaden their green credentials and help conserve Perthshire’s tree heritage and improve access to it for everyone to enjoy now and in the future.

Fonab Castle plan to raise funds for Perthshire Big Tree Country from their guests, who may opt into donating £2 per stay to help the local nature and biodiversity of the area.

Peter Quinn, PKCT’s Trust Director, commented:

“The Pitlochry area in which Fonab Castle is based is rich with some of Perthshire’s most iconic big trees, so it is fantastic to welcome their support of these incredible trees and the nature and biodiversity they nurture. We thank Fonab and all of its guests for their generosity helping us with conservation, access and educational project across Perthshire Big Tree Country.”
Since its launch in 2007 at Gleneagles, the Supporting Perthshire Big Tree Country scheme has raised over £400,000 towards conservation and access project works. Other members of the scheme currently include Dunkeld House Hotel, Crieff Hydro, Bachilton Barn and Farm Holidays, BlueSky Experiences Gleneagles, Wyndham Duchally Country Estate, and The Comrie Hotel.
