Kings Seat Hillfort Discoveries on the Dunkeld House Hotel Estate
The Dunkeld community tell their story of what is believed to be a Pictish Royal Hillfort has been revealed after three years of excavations and analysis of finds from the site. This site can be found on the estate of the Hotel. The Kings seat Hillford Since 2018 the project has been celebrating King’s Seat and exploring its story with members of the local community.
The King’s Seat Hillfort Community Archaeology Project offered volunteers from the local and wider community, including local primary and secondary schools, the opportunity to work with professional archaeologists to uncover the story of the King’s Seat fort whilst receiving training in archaeological skills.
