Christmas comes early as dogs stay free at Crerar Hotels all winter
Not only will the hotel group waive the usual £20 per dog per night on all stays in classic rooms across its portfolio of seven four- and five-star properties – but all pooches will be pampered with specially-created treats from Aberdeenshire-based WowDog.
Christmas comes early as dogs stay free at Crerar Hotels all winter
The very dog-friendly hotel group, Crerar Hotels is upping the ante on its commitment to welcome four-legged friends – promising they won’t be left out in the cold over winter when their families want to take a well-earned break.
Crerar Hotels, already renowned for its love of furry guests, will welcome all dogs staying over the winter season – from now until 31 March 2022 – free of charge.
The family-run business not only prides itself on creating natural treats made with locally-sourced ingredients, but it also boasts some Crerar Hotels connections – with owner, Louisa Cannon’s mum holding her wedding at Golf View Hotel & Spa, where her grandmother also worked for many years before this.
The bespoke offering ensures families among the millions who welcomed pups into their homes during the pandemic are fully catered for, and don’t have to consider boarding or kennels when planning a winter staycation.
After a festive season full of restrictions in 2020, the hotel group – which even offers pet-friendly benefits to all team members – is predicting a surge in Yuletide staycations, with families keen to break from tradition and celebrate Christmas together away from home.
Like dogs themselves, the free stay offer is not just for Christmas. Four-legged companions taking a winter break with their families will enjoy special treats all winter, with custom made dog beds next to the hotels’ cosy fireplaces, recommendations for breath-taking walks for four paw adventure, tasty biscuits and extra cuddles from the team members.
The special stay has already been trialled by Crerar Hotels’ honorary ambassadog, Seòras – the faithful West Highland terrier companion of The Hebridean Baker – and has received the paw-stamp of approval.
Carolyn Carrington, General Manager of Golf View Hotel & Spa – and owner of one of Crerar Hotels’ most-loved hotel dogs, Fudge – said:
“All of our hotels and inns are passionate about bringing dog-friendly experiences to our guests. Many of the properties have hotel dogs that our guests just love to meet, so it goes without saying that we all welcome four-legged family members with open arms.
“That dog-friendly policy has never been so important as many of us, including people within our own teams, have welcomed a furry friend to the family over the past year or so. We know that so many people want to take a family break over the winter season, and dogs are very important members of their families, so we want to make sure everyone can be together by welcoming well-behaved pups free of charge.
“And, as it’s coming into the festive season, each dog deserves their own gift from Santa Paws, so we’re delighted to be partnering up with WowDog to ensure the treats are flowing for all of our furry four-legged guests.
“Our own hotel dogs, have trialled the treats and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive – wagging tails and clean bowls all round.”
Crerar Hotels has a portfolio of seven hotels and inns across picturesque Scottish locations including Mull, Glencoe, Nairn and Oban. Many of the hotels are situated next to some of Scotland’s best walking and hiking trails, making Crerar the perfect base for walks with four-legged friends.
Please Note: dogs stay free is not valid on Christmas and Hogmanay package breaks, and is subject to availability.
